At The Online Food Pantry, we believe hunger in America can be erased with strategic planning, sound logistics and commitment. Each year in the U.S. we waste over 119 billion pounds of edible food. That equates to 130 billion meals and more than $408 billion in food thrown away each year, while nearly 40 million people suffer from food insecurity. Meanwhile, over 40 billion in tax credits for businesses goes unclaimed annually. We believe the solution is quite simple: You Donate to us (TOFP), We Distribute to them (THE COMMUNITY).
The Online Food Pantry is a 501c3 nonprofit, established in early 2018. We are a food rescue, sustainable food management organization, with an innovative approach to eradicate food waste and combat hunger in our communities, by providing an online ordering platform with free home delivery service. Our services make it convenient for anyone experiencing food insecurity which may be due to lack of transportation, being economically disadvantaged, medically challenged or living in food deserts. We utilize our volunteers to rescue food from local food outlets such as Farmers Markets, Restaurants, Grocery stores, Local Farms, Manufacturers, Rejected truckloads and Special Events. We also rescue pet food, specifically dog and cat food because we know how important our little best friends are, who may suffer from food insecurity as well. We will not only eliminate food waste but also provide meals on dinner tables in our communities. There is no reason why we should have anyone in our communities in the United States going hungry due to food insecurity. Please keep in mind, our organization is dependent on public donations and grants to allow us to continue to operate, which means your support is critical to our success.
Our organization is setting the tone for all food outlets in our communities to follow by joining our cause to help eradicate food waste to combat hunger. This cause will take a team effort and commitment on both fronts. Our dedication and relentless approach to end this systematic problem will continue to grow and strengthen for years to come.
